West Ruimveldt resident Andrew Aulder, who is on trial for causing the death of another man by dangerous driving, is due to learn his fate on Friday, when a verdict is expected.
Aulder is accused of driving his vehicle in a dangerous manner and causing the death of Dinesh Bissoon on March 6, 2016.
Attorney Patrice Henry, who represents Aulder, made closing submissions stating that the court ought to uphold a no-case submission as the prosecution did not provide sufficient evidence, thereby resulting in doubts.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers, in response, told the court that the prosecution would have proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
He urged the court to not believe anything Aulder would have said and to note that his evidence in no way formed doubt in the prosecution’s case.
Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan subsequently adjourned the matter until Friday for a decision.
