Four men pulled off a daring daylight robbery early yesterday on a Chinese Supermarket in South Ruimveldt Gardens and escaped with $700,000.
According to the proprietor of the Convenience Supermarket, who did not want to be named, around 9am, four men, all armed with small handguns, came out of a silver car, and invaded his supermarket.
After they rushed in one of the men locked the metal door and the others held the four occupants of the shop at gun point.
He related that the men forced him and the other persons to lay face down on the floor and kept beating him demanding money.
Eventually, after beating the man, the bandits were able to round up $700,000 from the cash register and persons before they rushed back into the car and escaped.
