Police are searching for three persons who they believe can provide vital information on the fatal shooting at ‘Warlock,’ East Ruimveldt on Thursday night.
The shooting claimed the life of Andrew ‘Ziggy’ Fraser, 30, of Lot 565 East Ruimveldt, and has left Stanley Abrams, a resident of Lot 106 East Ruimveldt, hospitalised.
Fraser and Abrams were at a food shop on Ginep Lane, when a heavily-tinted blue car drove up and an occupant opened fire on them.
Police have said the car drove up from a northern direction and stopped. A man exited the car and discharged several rounds in the direction of Fraser and Abrams, after which the gunman rejoined the car, which sped off in a southern direction.
Commander Clifton Hicken last night told Stabroek News that investigators received information which they are using to apprehend the three persons.
Jean Adams, Fraser’s mother, explained to Stabroek News that her son had left their East La Penitence home about 15 minutes prior to the shooting to “go get some food.”
“I just got a call that Ziggy get shoot and I rush to the scene and he was there lying on the ground,” the woman related. He was said to have sustained around five gunshots.
She said that Fraser owns a stall in the Vendor’s Arcade and was slated to return to the United States on Saturday.
Fraser was pronounced dead on arrival while Abrams, a juice vendor, was shot to his left thigh, his back and abdomen.
