The Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 18.
Incumbent, Keavon Bess who has been at the helm for the past four years will be seeking re-election at the meeting which is scheduled for a 10:00hrs start at GOA’s headquarters in Kingston.
According to Bess, an Attorney-at-Law and Legal Advisor for the CAC Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, all posts on the local body will be up for election. They include the presidency, vice presidency, general secretary, organizing secretary and treasurer.
Guyana’s world renowned bodybuilder, Hugh Ross (VP), Stacy McKinnon (General Secretary) Videsh Sookram (Organizing Secretary) and Moressa Oscar (Treasurer) are the current office bearers.
Bess, who was unopposed at the last two AGM’s, stated that nominations are accepted on the day of elections.
The 30-year old also mentioned that at the last election, its members of the federation voted to amend the constitution to allow for a serving term of two years as opposed to the previous one year term.
Coming off a commendable year for the iron sport, Bess disclosed that he was “advised to seek re-elections and after much consideration I have decided to seek re-election one last time.”
