Eagles defeat Uitvlugt in blackout marred contest

Despite a power outage lasting approximately 90 minutes, Linden team Eagles FC and Den Amstel secured contrasting wins when the second annual Petra Organization/ Limacol football tournament continued Friday.

Eagles FC edged Uitvlugt 2-1 while Den Amstel downed Pou-deroyen 2-0 in front of the largest crowd to date in the event at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

The venue despite being built for several hundred millions, has no backup source of electricity and was blanketed in darkness seconds before end of the first period in the Uitvlugt and Eagles contest.
