Plaisance Guardians claimed wins in the Open and U23 sections while Colts secured a victory in the Open division when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) League of Champions continued on Thursday.
Guardians humbled Eagles 108-67 in the Open section staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Sharpshooter Nikoloi Smith recorded a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds while Kwame Fox supported with 20 points. Marlon Chesney chipped in with 16 points, five rebounds and four steals, Enoch Matthews registered 12 points and 10 rebounds and Trenton Woolford scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds.
For Eagles, rising star Kevin Wiggins netted 16 points and seven rebounds while Mark Wills bagged 13 points and six rebounds. Adding 10 points each were Owan Walton and Devon Murray.
In the U23 division Plaisance Guardians crushed Pacesetters 80-53. Terrence Daniels registered a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds in the rout.He was assisted by Jared Sears, who scored 13 points, Anton Fileen who netted 12 points and four rebounds and a 10 point effort from Andrew Johnson.
Marvin Durant battled to 17 points, four rebounds and as many steals while Jude Corlette and Kwesi Roberts netted 10 and six points respectively for Eagles.
IN another Open encounter, Colts defeated University of Guyana (UG) Trojans 69-55. Shelroy Thomas scored 29 points and had five steals while new recruit Jermaine Slater bagged 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Chipping in with nine and seven points were Shane Webster and Kurt English respectively. For the Trojans, Akeem Kanhai recorded 17 points and had five blocks.
He was assisted by Alista Usher, Jacob Lowe and Quincy Easton who scored 10, nine and seven points respectively.
