Ganga Krishna and Avishkar Bissoon, the welders charged with killing a man and his two young daughters after setting their Robb and King streets home on fire, were yesterday committed to stand trial for the crime.
The charge against the two men stated that between November 16 and December 21, 2014, in Georgetown, they murdered Clarissa Rozario, 14, Theresa Rozario, 12, and Hilrod Thomas.
In her ruling, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan stated that she had considered all of the evidence provided by the prosecution through its witnesses and found that a prima facie case was established against the duo.
When asked by the Chief Magistrate if they wished to say anything both men reiterated their innocence.
Subsequently, the defendants were committed to stand trial at the next practicable sitting of the Demerara Assizes, to be held at the High Court.
