Colts secured wins in the Open and U23 sections while Ravens won in the U23 division when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) League of Champions continued Tuesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Colts torched Pacesetters 77-48 with Stanton Rose scoring 20 points and grabbing six rebounds while Shelroy Thomas netted 19 points and pulled down six rebounds. Kurt English bagged 10 points.
Chipping in with eight points and 13 rebounds was Shane Webster while recent acquisition Jermaine Slater accumulated eight points and six rebounds.
For Pacesetters, Nathan Saul scored 16 points, Sherlon Legall tallied 11 points and nine rebounds and Jaleel Duke netted 10 points.
The contest was over by the halftime interval as Colts dominated their arch-rival. The first period ended 21-12 before Colts outscored their foes 20-8 to lead 41-20 at the midway point. Colts maintained their dominance in the third stanza, netting 21 points while restricting Pacesetters to 10 points to head into the final quarter firmly in control at 62-30.
With the result already a foregone conclusion, Pacesetters outscored Colts 18-15. Meanwhile, Colts maintained their perfect record on the night, grounding Eagles 78-57 in the U23 matchup. Timothy Thompson bagged a double-double of 24 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks in the win while Jonathan Mangra assisted with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Jamal Gilkes chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds. Darrol Williams top scored for Eagles with 20 points while Travis Belgrave contributed 16 points and nine rebounds.
In another U23 fixture, Ravens clawed past Pacesetters 58-55. Murtland Ward recorded a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win while Shamar Huntley assisted with 12 points, five rebounds and Sebastian Luke scored 11 points.
For Pacesetters, Quincy DosSantos netted a game high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds while Marvin Durant registered eight points and as many rebounds. The event resumes today at the same venue.
