Alex Griffith, the teenager who was shot in his mouth allegedly by a police officer during 2014, was yesterday afternoon shot again reportedly by another policeman who was allegedly chasing after him for not wearing a motorcycle helmet.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 5.15 pm yesterday while 18-year-old Griffith,
who was not wearing a helmet and is an unlicensed rider was riding a motorcycle along Freeman Street, East La Penitence. A policeman, also on a motorcycle, began to chase after him.
The rank reportedly did not indicate that he wanted Griffith to pull over, but during the chase the officer fell off his motorcycle while making a turn. He then reportedly whipped out a firearm and fired two shots, one of which struck Griffith to his left leg.
Griffith was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where his condition was listed as stable up to last evening. The bullet reportedly exited his leg.
An investigation has since been launched.
Griffith, was shot in his mouth allegedly by Police Officer Cadet Franz Paul, who was reportedly questioning him about a robbery committed on April 30, 2014 at Freeman Street, East La Penitence.
Paul was subsequently charged with discharging a loaded firearm at Griffith, with intent to maim, disfigure or cause bodily harm. The matter is still before the court.
