Dead: Ryan Reynolds

He has been identified as Ryan Reynolds of Ogle, ECD and the son of Justice Brassington Reynolds.

Traffic Chief Deon Moore confirmed the accident which occurred in the early morning hours. A passerby recalled seeing the damaged utility pole and car between 3 and 3.30 am.

Moore said information thus far revealed that the younger Reynolds, who was the lone occupant of motor vehicle PJJ 2706, was proceeding east along the Liliendaal Railway Embankment, ECD, when he lost control of the vehicle causing him to hit a utility pole before colliding with a resident’s fence. He was pitched out of the vehicle which landed in a nearby trench.

The younger Reynolds was reportedly heading home when tragedy struck.

When contacted by this newspaper yesterday, his family refused to speak.

Residents in the area recalled hearing a loud impact and on checking, seeing the vehicle submerged in the trench.
