The Guyana Water Incorporated wishes to provide the following statement in response to a letter in the Stabroek News titled ‘No water in Chateau Margot’, dated February 10.
Contrary to the letter, only one household was without water in the Chateau Margot area, owing to a leak that was discovered by our team during an inspection on February 9. However, the leak was repaired on the said day and water has been restored.
As such, GWI would like to refute claims by Mr Dudhnath, the author of the letter, that the entire community of Chateau Margot was experiencing water disruption for the past three days.
The management of GWI would like to remind all customers that it remains committed to ensuring equal water access to all citizens of Guyana.
