Smyth Street Nursery, St Angela’s Primary and St John’s College have been adjudged the best of the best in their respective categories, according to the results from last Saturday’s Children Costume and Float Parade.
The parade, an annual event was deemed a success by the Ministry of Education, having featured 52 costumed revelers and individual floats from the 11 education districts.
The band categories were Nursery, Primary, Secondary, Other Children’s Organizations and Regional Presenta-tion, while there was also Individual Presentation.
Coming in first place for Nursery School Bands was Smyth Street Nursery with a display titled, “Garden of Love”, while Head Start Nursery and Plaisance Nursery managed to secure second and third place respectively.
Meanwhile, S. Angela’s Primary managed to beat Graham’s Hall’s “Mathematics is fun” display to secure first place with its display that focused on a “Celebration of Culture”. St Ambrose was third.
For Secondary School Bands, St John’s College copped the top position with its display, “Queen of Hearts” followed by North Georgetown’s “Solar Invasion” and the Bishops’ High School third with its “Together in Freedom We Fly” display.
Other Children’s Organizations that managed with secure the top three spots included, the Mahaicony Technical Institute which was first, while the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs Hinterland Scholarship Students secured second place and the National School of Dance third.
Meanwhile, the costume display entered by Oshay Roberts was adjudged the winner of the category designated for Individual Presentations, followed by Jaydensoft Broomes and Jenaira Browne who placed second and third respectively.
For Regional Presentations, the Department of Education Region 4 was the winner, with Department of Education Region 3 and Department of Education Region 10 in second and third place respectively.
