Dear Editor,
A letter from the Police Public Relations and Press Officer in SN’s issue of February 27 prompted me to visit the Suddie Police Station where it was verified that the telephone numbers for senior ranks in the Region 2 district were on a bulletin board; however, these were not at all clearly visible as was claimed.
After being invited into the enquiries office, I was advised to look up at a wall to see the numbers placed there, but even though my sight is perfectly good I had to ask a rank to show me where the numbers were amid the other notices. From where members of the public usually are, it would be totally impossible for them to discern these numbers, and the purpose for which they were intended is defeated.
What is needed is to have the numbers placed in a conspicuous spot where they can be seen at a glance. There is ample space outside the enquiries office where these numbers could be placed.
Yours faithfully,
Baliram Persaud
