Guyana’s winless record in the 2017 CONCACAF Beach Soccer championships continued Tuesday when they went under to Jamaica 3-6 in their second group fixture at the Malcolm Beach Soccer Facility in The Bahamas.
After going down to the hosts 1-4 in their opening fixture, Guyana were relegated to a lopsided defeat through hat tricks from Jamaicans Rohan Reid and Jermaine Anderson.
Reid started the rout with three strikes in the third, fifth and 14th minute while Anderson netted in the 20th, 23rd and 31st minute. For the Guyanese, Deshawn Joseph scored twice in the 19th and 32nd minute while Jahshawn Moore scored in the 10th minute.
Up to press time, Guyana was battling Belize in their final group fixture. A victory during regulation time is worth three points while a win in extra time and penalty kicks is worth two and one point respectively.
Bahamas has six points from their two matches while Jamaica has three points and occupy the second position. Belize occupies the third position with a point while Guyana is in the cellar position without a point.
