Dear Editor,
We did write a letter to President Granger dated 1st February 2016 requesting reparation for slavery. Mr Granger did reply stating that he has referred our letter to Mr Basil Williams, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs for his advice. To this date Mr Williams has procrastinated and has failed to address this matter. We write to register the dissatisfaction of the Council of Chiefs of the Descendants of Enslaved and Manumitted Africans Reparation Trust with the procrastination of the Attorney General in addressing this matter. This is a simple administrative matter which should have been addressed since early 2016, given the fact that Mr Williams has several attorneys-at-law in his chambers, one of whom could have been assigned this matter for resolution, but he has dragged it out for over one year and there seems to be no resolution in sight.
Yours faithfully,
HM Noah Yahshuarun
