Armed bandits robbed the Shell gas station at Ogle, East Coast Demerara early yesterday morning, after they tied up the security guard.
The attack was carried out around 2.30 am yesterday by three bandits, whose faces were covered to conceal their identities. The men stormed the compound, then gun-butted and tied up security guard Terry Peters before breaking into the supermarket section of the gas station.
Stabroek News was told that Peters was taking a nap when he was awakened by the three men, who dealt him a blow to his head with a gun before tying him up. The men then proceeded to break into the store. It is unclear what they took.
When Stabroek News visited the scene yesterday, the business was open but employees denied that there was an attack.
A police investigation is ongoing.
