Minister of State Joseph Harmon says government is open to meeting with the Private Sector Commission (PSC) to discuss whatever issue it wants addressed.
During a post-Cabinet press briefing on Friday, he was asked when government will be open to meeting with the PSC.
The PSC, he stated, is seen as a partner in development and therefore once that is recognized then there is no need for the private sector to have to go through “hoops” to get to the government.
“We are partners… and I am sure that the Minister of Business and other ministers within the government that have to do with whatever are the issues they would want to deal with, will make themselves available,” he said adding that the President has given a clear mandate to his ministers that they have to engage and consult.
“An engagement with the private sector will always be something that is on the cards so I will basically wait to see what the invitation is and what it is that they wish to discuss and I am sure we will be willing to meet with the private sector,” he said.
