The appointed Chairman of the Lotto Control Commission is not aware of the Commission meeting since being appointed in July 2015 (‘Lotto Commission hasn’t met since appointment in 2015’ SN, March 14).
This is mind boggling.
It therefore means no report on its work has been laid. Interesting.
It would appear the Commissioner is unaware as to the true status of the commission. So, for almost two years the work of the Commission it would seem is at a standstill. One has to question what is the purpose of a chairman? It would be interesting to learn if the Chairman and Commissioners are receiving their monthly directors’ fees at taxpayers’ expense.
If the current Chairman is unable to carry out the mandate of the position because of other more pressing duties then her should do the honourable thing and resign and let someone else take the helm so the work of the Commission can proceed.
