Bridgette Theya Narine, the teacher who was found dead in her Mahdia, Region Eight apartment on Wednesday, died from hanging, according to a post-mortem examination.
This was confirmed by Commander of ‘F’ Division Ravindradat Budhram, who told Stabroek News yesterday that the police revisited the scene one day after the discovery and found a suicide note written by Narine.
The contents of the note, he said, were disclosed to Narine’s family.
Narine, 21, a nursery school teacher who hails from Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara, was discovered dead in her apartment on Wednesday.
It is suspected that her death occurred sometime between Friday and Wednesday.
Narine reportedly did not report for work last Friday which raised concerns. As a result, several persons tried to make contact with her to no avail. The police were lateralerted after an odour began emanating from the apartment.
