Carmel Secondary, Sir Leon Lessons, Queenstown Secondary and South Ruimveldt sealed their respective berths to the knockout round when the fifth Milo U18 secondary schools football championships continued yesterday.
Played at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, Carmel Secondary dismantled Brickdam Secondary 12-0. Shaquille Cox recorded a hat-trick in the ninth, 14th and 37th minute while Darron Niles scored a double in the 17th and 20th minute and Romel Maxwell bagged a brace in the 19th and 28th minute.
Assisting with goals were Shaquille Baptiste, Ryan Fredericks, Shawn Harvey, Stefon Duke and Romel Smith in the second, third, 12th, 46th and 51st minute respectively.
Similarly, Sir Leon Lessons downed Richard Ishmael 5-1. Adrian Aaron scored a hat trick in the fifth, 10th and 16th minute while Meshach Barratt and Tyrese Forde netted in the 41st and 42nd minute respectively.
On target in the loss was Shemar Albert in the 21st minute. Meanwhile, Queenstown overcame a 3-0 deficit to edge Cummings Lodge 4-3.
Denzel Ross registered a double in the 36th and 52nd minute while Jermaine Padmore and Shaquille Stephens netted in the 26th and 50th minute apiece.
For the losing team, Keon Hamer, Britton Capriano and Leonardo Wilson scored in the 14th, 19th and 21st minute each.
South Ruimveldt defeated Christ Church 3-2, with Nergal McBean crafting a hat-trick in the 55th, 57th and 60th minute respectively. For the loser, Patrick Joseph scored in the 19th and 40th minute.
The tourney will continues today at the same venue with another four matches. At 11:00hrs, Central High engages School of the Nations while former winner St. George’s battle Tutorial Secondary from 12:30hrs.
The third fixture at 14:00hrs will witness Queens College matching skills with Mae’s Secondary whilst Dolphin Secondary opposes North Georgetown from 15:30hrs.
