The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Associa-tion (GFSCA) will stage a Masters Inter-County Champion-of-Champions softball tournament next month with four teams clashing for a lucrative first prize.
This was disclosed to the media Friday afternoon at a press conference held by the organisers who revealed that this year’s tournament will be the first such tournament in over two decades.
The tournament will be held April 15 and 16 with four teams clash for the top prize of two hundred thousand dollars and a trophy at the Ogle community center ground.
The tournament which has been on a hiatus for nearly two decades will feature Valvoline’s Demerara and Wellman’s Demerara while Trophy Stall’s Essequibo and Permaul’s Berbice are the other teams.

The teams will each play three preliminary matches with the top two teams facing each other on the 16th to decide the champion. The tournament is dubbed a Masters contest which will cater for players over the age of 45.
Each team, however, will be allowed to play two players 43 years of age and over.
On the final day, there will be a female exhibition match between Great Demerara and Mighty Berbice, slated for 12: 45 Pm.
A patron will be charged 200 to enter the venue on each day, they will be allowed to enter if they have a barbecue which will up for purchase shortly.
