The Kaieteur News carried the results of an interview with Engineer Charles Ceres who expressed the view that contractors executing shabby works should be prosecuted. He was referring to the defective works performed in the construction of the Hope Canal bridge and the Kato Secondary School. In both cases, the estimated cost of the remedial works to be undertaken is approximately 15% of the construction costs.
