Pizza Hut Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) and Woodpecker Hikers secured contrasting victories when the second Woodpecker Products women’s first-division league commenced last weekend.
Pizza Hut GCC mauled Old Fort 10-0 on Saturday at the St. Stanislaus ground, Carifesta Avenue. Sonia Jardine netted five times while Aaliyah Gordon and Shebiki Baptiste scored two goals each and Carina Moller, one.
On Sunday, Woodpecker Hikers defeated Spartans 2-0 at the GCC ground, Bourda. Maria Munroe bagged a second half double in the hard-fought win.
