A security guard attached to Automotive Arts on Croal Street, Georgetown was yesterday afternoon robbed at gunpoint of $100,000, in twenty dollars notes just after returning from a city bank.
The incident occurred around 1:50 pm during which Anthony Khan was relieved of a bag containing the cash.
During the process, the gunman, whose face was not concealed, discharged a single round in the air and fled in a black motor car.
The incident was caught on surveillance footage which is currently being reviewed by the police.
According to reports reaching Stabroek News, Khan had just returned from the commercial bank where he had visited to withdraw the money. He exited motor vehicle, GVV 7195, when he was approached by the suspect who held him at gunpoint and relieved him of the money.
The matter was reported to the police and an investigation has since been launched.
A .32 spent shell was recovered at the scene.
