Two persons are now in police custody after they were allegedly found with two illegal firearms and matching rounds on Thursday.
According to a police press release, acting on information, ranks from ‘A’ Division stopped a car on the public road at Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, around 12.25 pm.
They conducted a search and subsequently found a .44 revolver and a 9mm pistol with 11 live matching rounds.
As such, the two occupants, a 41-year-old resident of Bel Air Park and a 22-year-old resident of North Sophia were taken into custody and are assisting the police with the investigation.
