Berbice businessman Ameer Niron Bacchus spread Easter joy when he distributed kites to 1,000 children in several communities in Upper Berbice, Region 10 over the past few days.
Among the communities that benefitted were Hururu, Wikki, Calcuni, Wiruni, Coomacka, Aroaima, and Kwakwani.
Bacchus, who is originally from Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice, has been living and conducting his logging business at Hururu Village for more than 10 years.
Over the years, he has made material and financial contributions to the village for various infrastructural works and initiatives for the benefit of residents. Notably, he provided resources to aid in the development of a roadway leading to the village’s nursery, primary and secondary schools.
