A taxi driver, allegedly caught with 32 amphetamine tablets at the Pegasus Hotel, was remanded to prison yesterday after a court heard that he attempted to sell the substance to a policeman.
It is alleged that on April 12, at the Pegasus Hotel, Joel Bobb had in his possession 32 amphetamine tablets that amounted to 10 grammes.
Bobb, of Lot 3816 North Ruimveldt, denied the charge when he was brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown.
Police Prosecutor Arvin Moore told the court, however, that the defendant attempted to sell the substance to the police.
Subsequently, the magistrate remanded the accused and adjourned the matter to May 15.
