The second and final retrial of Lakeraj Fredericks who is accused of the 2011 murder of Clifton Bonus, is set to commence next Monday before Justice Navindra Singh at the High Court in Georgetown.
The 12-member mixed jury which will be hearing and determining the case against the accused, was empaneled yesterday morning.
The charge against Fredericks, who has pleaded not guilty, is that between June 1 and 8, 2011 at Linden, he murdered Bonus.
Representing the accused is defence attorney Madan Kissoon.
The state’s case, meanwhile, will be led by Prosecutor Siand Dhurjon in association with Tuanna Hardy.
Bonus’ body was discovered dumped in a gully in the backlands of the old airstrip at Linden on June 8, 2011.
A post-mortem examination revealed that he had died of haemorrhage which was a result of two gunshot wounds to the head.
