A Mocha man was yesterday charged with sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl.
During an in-camera hearing, Gladwin Welch, a pork-knocker, was read a charge which alleged that between December 1, 2016 and December, 24, 2016, he engaged in sexual activity with the child by touching and rubbing her.
Welch, of 184 Mocha, denied the allegation.
Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who read the charge to Welch in Georgetown, granted him $100,000 bail and adjourned the matter to April 27.
