The 2017 edition of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden Championship is slated to commence tomorrow at the Mackenzie Market Tarmac from 19:00hrs.
The event which features 32 teams, will last for seven days. The opening fixture will pit High Rollers against Silvertown All-Stars while Dream Chasers will tackle Speightland at 19:30hrs.
At 20:00hrs, Jermaine and Family Silver Bullets will oppose High Stars while High Life Crew will engage Eagles from 20:30hrs. The fifth fixture at 21:00hrs will pit former champs Amelia Ward Russians against Constab while Main Street Panthers will battle Unknowns from 21:30hrs.
The final two fixtures will pit defending champion Team 25 against South Stars at 22:00hrs and Dave and Celina All-Stars against Ripping Bullets at 22:30hrs.
Winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy while the runners-up will collect $150,000 and the corresponding accolade. The third and fourth place finishers will walk away with $75,000 and $50,000 apiece and the respective trophy. Other venues scheduled to host matches are Silver City Hardcourt and Amelia’s Ward Hard Court.
