Pepsi Hikers came from behind to defeat Bounty Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) 2-1 when the Farfan and Mendes Men’s 1st Division Hockey Championship continued on Sunday at the GCC ground, Bourda.
Falling behind to a fifth minute conversion from Kareem McKenzie, Hikers equalized in the 41st minute when Jamarj Assanah found the back of the net.
The win was then sealed in the 67th minute by Travon Young’s strike.
Meanwhile, Old Fort secured their first win of the championship, defeating St Stanislaus 4-1. Aderemi Simon recorded a hat-trick while the other goal was recorded by Chris Low. Ato Green netted for St Stanislaus.
