Pizza Hut Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) maintained their unbeaten run in the Woodpecker Products women’s first division hockey league after thrashing arch rival Woodpecker Hikers 6-0 Monday at the GCC ground, Bourda.
The match, which was billed as the clash of the unbeaten teams, was basically over at the halftime interval as the home side seized a commanding 3-0 lead.
National player Sonia Jardine fashioned a first half hat-trick, ending with four goals in the lopsided contest.
Jardine broke the deadlock with an 11th minute conversion and she doubled the score a minute later.
The deserved hat-trick was then completed in the 27th minute.
Upon the resumption of the contest the score ballooned once more with Jardine continuing her dominance, sealing her helmet-trick in the 36th minute.
Sibling Kerensa Fernandes then picked up the scoring burden for the hosts, applying the finishing touch with a quick for brace in the space of one minute.
The burly forward opened her account through a 37th minute strike, before completing the score seconds later.
