Investigators have not yet been able to identify the man whose body was discovered badly decomposed and tied to a courida tree at the Onverwagt foreshore on Wednesday.
Commander of B Division, Ian Amsterdam, when contacted had told Stabroek News, that the body is badly decomposed and a post-mortem examination has to be done in order to determine the cause of death. Amsterdam relayed that the body was found discovered with the hands tied to a tree trunk and the feet tied together. He said also that the person’s head was covered with his jersey.
He said that the body had a wound on the chest and the police were treating the discovery as a suspected murder case.
