Ranks of the Guyana Police Force Major Crime and Trafficking in Persons Units acting on information swoop down on two popular business establishments located opposite each other at George and Princes streets Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, just after 02:00hrs yesterday morning.
A search was conducted, during which several persons were detained and arrested including four female adult foreign nationals said to be employees along with the two male proprietors, one of whom was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm with fifteen live rounds, the police said.
The females are suspected to be victims of Human Trafficking and have since been placed into the care of the Ministry of Social Protection pending the investigation.
