A South Haslington man was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with the murder of a Sand Hills miner in 2016.
Jumar Ralph, of 45 South Haslington, was read the murder charge by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown. The charge alleged that Ralph, on February 10, 2016, at Sand Hills Landing, murdered Richard Culpeper.
Ralph was represented by attorney Eusi Anderson, who told the court that his client is innocent of the charge.
Police prosecutor Arvin Moore then told the court that the file in relation to the matter is complete. As a result, Chief Magistrate McLennan remanded Ralph and adjourned the matter to May 31, when it will be called at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
