Guyana has secured its first medal at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games currently underway in Baku, Azerbaijan.
National 400m record holder and two-time Olympian, Winston George snared a silver medal in the quarter-mile event yesterday.
The winning time was clocked at 45.69s.
During the fourth edition of the Games which concludes on Many 22, the sum of 24 disciplines from 21 sports[5] will be contested. Some sports also include disabled sport events such as in athletics and judo. All 56 members of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are participating during the Games.
