Strength athletes and enthusiasts, mark your calendars for June 5.
On that day, the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) will team up with Bounty Farm Limited to stage an Open Deadlift Competition and a fund raising Bar-B-Q at the St. Stanislaus College Auditorium.
The top three athletes according to wilks points will be handsomely rewarded for their efforts.
Bar-B-Q tickets cost $1000 each, and athlete registration is listed at $2500 for the activity which is geared towards blanketing the cost for the national athletes to attend the Annual International Powerlifting Federation (IPF)/ North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) and Caribbean Championships slated for July 5-8 in Orlando, Florida.
Persons without Bar-B-Q tickets will be required to pay an admission fee of $500.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the federation, Osmond Mack, Bounty Farm Limited will donate the chicken for the Bar-B-Q.
