The report, ‘Linden driver guilty of causing cop’s death,’ which was published in the May 23, 2017 edition incorrectly reported that Ron Cole was convicted for causing the death of traffic policeman Nakosi
‘Kelvin’ LaFleur. Cole was found not guilty of the charge in March by Magistrate Leron Daly, who upheld a no-case submission that was made by his lawyer, Leslyn Charles. Cole was, however, found guilty last Thursday on a charge of dangerous driving, for which he is to be sentenced on June 1, pending the presentation of a probation report. The charge against Cole had stated that on April 11, along the Eccles Public Road, he, drove GRR 3955 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of LaFleur.
