The proprietor of Shiva Woodworking passed away last week Wednesday.
Remembered as a very quiet and private person by his family, 63-year-old Sewnarine Singh of the well-known Shiva Woodworking in Enmore, East Coast Demerara, passed away May 17th and was cremated on May 21st.
According to Singh’s son, Raj, he was a private person who enjoyed the simple things in life and would not want any extravagant thing done in memory of him. “He even told us before he died that he did not want anyone to do any speeches or talk or anything,” the son told Stabroek News yesterday.
Neighbours also recalled Singh as being a very quiet, helpful and religious man. According to information gathered, Shiva Woodworking has been in Singh’s family since the early 80s and was originally owned by his father and was passed down to him.
