Municipalities association resuscitated: Following the Municipal Conference that was held last week, the Guyana Association of Municipalities was resuscitated with the election of a new executive after a five-year hiatus. Linden Mayor Carwyn Holland (seated at centre) was elected President, with (seated from left) Georgetown Mayor Patricia Chase-Green as Treasurer, Mayor of New Amsterdam Kirt Winter as Secretary, Mayor of Bartica Gifford Marshall as Vice-President and New Amsterdam Town Council member Kirk Fraser as Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer. Also elected were committee members (standing from left) Durul Persaud, of Anna Regina; Carolyn Murray Caesar, of Georgetown; Deputy Mayor of Bartica Kamal Persaud; Mayor of Rose Hall Vijay Kumar Ramoo; Mayor of Lethem Carlton Beckles; and Deputy Mayor of Linden Waneka Arrindell.
