Workers of the Guyana National Shipping Corporation (GNSC) have donated over $200,000 in care items to residents of Archer’s Home as part of the company’s 41st anniversary celebrations.
According to a statement issued by the company, employees of GNSC, as part of activities planned for the celebrations this week, recognized the residents of the senior citizens home for their service to Guyana.
Marketing Manager Renne Chester stated that the employees were eager to give back to the Home. “This year we wanted to challenge our employees with this ‘Shoe Box Challenge’ to give back and they gladly accepted…,” he was quoted as saying in the statement.
The employees had about two weeks to complete the challenge.
Olive Williams, the supervisor of Archer’s Home, expressed her gratitude to GNSC for choosing the home as a part of its celebrations.
“I’m extremely happy that GNSC chose us,” Williams stated, while giving special thanks to the employees who made the donation possible.
