The Forgotten Youth Foundation (FYF) Gym will host an Inter-Gym Competition today at the James and Bel Air Streets premises from 16:00hrs.
According to Head Coach of the gym, Sebert Blake, the fixture which comes on the heels of the Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors Championship, is another initiative geared towards exposing amateur boxing in the 592.
Blake, a three-star AIBA certified coach told this publication yesterday that Simon Pures from five gyms inclusive of FYF will battle for bragging rights, medals and trophies.
Blake noted that in excess of 15 fights will be on today’s card.
“The competition will be open to all boxers, schoolboys, juniors, youth and elite,” said Blake, adding “we will also be looking to have two female bouts.”
Blake further noted that the tourney has attracted the sponsorship of former world champion, Australia based, Gairy Sinclair along with Banks DIH Limited, Courts, Abdool and Abdool, Talk is Cheap Internet Cafe and Star Party Rentals. See you there.
