If you are a fan of food and powerlifting, then the place to be tomorrow is the St Stanislaus College auditorium.
Come out and enjoy a day of heavy lifting, eating and elbow bending when the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) stages its highly anticipated deadlift competition and Bar-B-Q fund raising event.
On competition day, the top three athletes according to wilks points will be handsomely rewarded for their efforts after competition gets underway at 13:00hrs.
Bar-B-Q costs $1000 while athlete registration is listed at $2500 for the activity which is geared towards blanketing the cost for the national athletes to attend the Annual International Powerlifting Federation (IPF)/ North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) and Caribbean Championships set for July 5-8 in Orlando, Florida.
Persons without Bar-B-Q tickets will be required to pay an admission fee of $500. Fitness Express, Ansa McAL and Bounty Farm Limited are some of the sponsors for the tomorrow’s fixture.
