Discharged several times for the murder of political activist Courtney Crum-Ewing, Regan Rodrigues, aka, ‘Grey Boy’ remains in custody.
This information was relayed to Stabroek News by the Commander of `A’ Division, Marlon Chapman last evening.
His continued detention is raising concerns about the infringing of his rights.
When asked if officers were awaiting word from the courts before releasing Rodrigues, this newspaper was told that legal issues needed to be sorted out prior to his release.
On Wednesday, Magis-trate Judy Latchman, having been issued a second letter from the Director of Public Prosecutions ordering that she commit Rodrigues to stand trial for the offence, maintained that the court found that there was no prima facie case made out against him. He was nevertheless taken into police custody.
