The team of persons who met with the Minister of Citizenship, Winston Felix, yesterday to discuss the fate of the Haitian nationals being held by police will today initiate the process of applying for work permits even as they push for a halt in the deportation process.
Following the engagement, blogger Mark Jacobs, who led the group which comprised members of the Guyana Bar Association (GBA) and other concerned citizens, related that three recommendations were put forward to the minister yesterday, including the suggestion that they release those in custody and halt efforts to deport them.
