Rico Persaud of 2711 West Ruimveldt was hauled before a city magistrate yesterday to answer four robbery charges. Persaud, 24, was first read a charge which stated that he, on June 10 at Georgetown stole an Acer laptop valued at $180,000, property of Mohamed Nazir.
A second charge stated that on March 12 at Carifesta Avenue, he stole a Sony laptop valued at $150,000, property of Angelique Parag.
It is further alleged that the accused, on May 20, at the Marriott Hotel, stole a Samsung Galaxy phone valued at $140,000 and $50,000 cash, property of Rajnee Chivpaul.
On the very day and at the same location, Persaud also allegedly stole another Galaxy phone, valued at $140,000, property of Dukie Ahmad.
Persaud denied the four charges.
The prosecutor objected to bail being granted.
However, Magistrate Fabayo Azore granted the defendant $140,000 bail, $35,000 for each charge.
