Majek Fingers Drumming School will be holding its first drumming educational workshop come next month aimed at educating some 35 drummers about the basic techniques of drumming, hand patterns, rhythms, the history and art of drumming of Guyana.
It is expected that the workshop will take place on July 1 and 2 at 23 John and Norton streets with facilitators Orlando Primo, who is the founder of the school, Dillon Philadelphia and Levi Jackson.
According to a release from Majek Fingers as it celebrates its seventh anniversary it believes that the workshop will be an opportunity for it to continue promoting drumming culture and art.
The school was founded by Primo in 2010 with the mission of providing a culturally focused educational support for the drumming art.
