Baggage scanner being relocated to facilitate CJIA expansion

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) today said that to facilitate ongoing expansion works at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri, the Baggage Scanner at the Arrival Terminal will be moved from its current position to the new temporary Arrival Terminal located east of the current arrival terminal.

CJ to rule July 17 on GECOM Chairman criteria

Acting Chief Justice Roxane George SC will on July 17 deliver her decision in a court action which seeks clarity on the President’s criteria for the selection of a Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Chairperson, including whether a judge must be among the nominees for the post.

Gov’t, IDB in meeting on oil sector

A team from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) yesterday paid a courtesy call on Minister of State, Joseph Harmon for an exploratory meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman and Presidential Advisor on Petroleum, Dr.
