President of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC), Rameez Mohamed has assured fans of action in today’s edition of the National Race of Champions, set for the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri despite the threat of rain.
“We expect a few light showers tomorrow [today] at the event but whatever the weather, the races will go ahead. All the racers know about the possibility of showers and have got their rain tires, so the event is a go,” Mohamed declared.
He also informed Stabroek Sport that the GMR&SC event will be a thrill since all the grids are filled and the drivers are keen on braving the circuit’s steep turns in an effort to entertain the fans.
The 29-year-old, who took up the office in February, announcing himself as the youngest president, will also be contesting for the checkered flag with veterans Andrew King and Mark Vieira.
