The European Union (EU) today apologised for magnifying by 10 times the size of the support it had given to Guyana’s sugar industry.
At a press conference on June 29, the EU had said that the figure given was $348.5B. In a statement today, the EU said that the figure should have been $34.85B.
The incorrect figure had been challenged by former PPP/C Presidents Donald Ramotar and Bharrat Jagdeo.
